3D Print Application in Shenzhou-13 Rocket!

Last year, there was an exciting news in China, Shenzhou-13 was launched on 16th October, which was the eighth crewed Chinese spaceflight.

After 182 days, Shenzhou-13 successfully undocked from Tianhe core module and the reentry module returned to Earth on 16th April 2022.

Three great astronauts finished their work and returned to the Earth safely, the whole country gave them the warmest welcome. But their muscles are weak because they spent so long in micro-gravity, so they were unable to stand or walk like they did on Earth. To avoid any problem causing by gravity, they were being carried by this special seat, the parts were made in 3D printing.

There were 4 seats needed to be produced at that time, so 3D print was the most cost-effective way to achieve. Due to the uncertain environments of landing, the material of the parts must withstand the changes of weather and temperature(-20℃). 3DPlink believed that ASA could be the ideal choice for this project. ASA is an excellent engineering plastic with high mechanical strength, the property of UV resistance makes the models can be exposed to UV for a long time without deformation.
